ON DJ BOOTH
NYC rhymesayer AWKWORD has come together with The DJBooth and The Morgan Stanley Foundation to bring listeners his long awaited studio album, World View.
Five years in the making, the LP has been described by the artist as “the first-ever 100% for-charity global hip-hop project.” All proceeds from its sale will go to Guns 4 Cameras, a 501c3 nonprofit working to eradicate gun violence. The 19-track set comes heralded by singles “Requiem,” “Bars & Hooks,” “Notorious,” “Melting Pot (Made in America),” “Throw Away the Key,” “Go!,” “Dedication,” “Radio 2.0,” “Metal Music” and “Doctor Doctor.”
World View‘s impressive slate of beatsmiths and collaborators includes representatives of eight countries across five continents. Chaundon, Joell Ortiz, KRS-One, REKS, Sean Price and Slug (of Atmosphere) are just a few of many guest vocalists on the project, which features beats by the likes of Amin PaYnE, Dismas, Dominant1, Domingo, Harry Fraud, Numonics and Steel Tipped Dove.
An additional 11 countries will be represented when the World View “bonus disc” arrives in March, right here at The DJBooth!
